Ok, so putting it simply, the Maxxis Detonator MTB Tyre is a great all round MTB road tyre. I tend to do a lot of bike path rides with the kids, and running the bike on an aggressive down hill tread for these (slower) rides is not the most comfortable ride. I highly recommend this tyre for both the family ride. The Maxxis Detonator MTB Tyre is perfect for road training when you only have one bike available, or for daily commuting.
