The new flagship road lid for Lazer, the Z1 tips the scales at a claimed 230 grams, and meets leading safety standards. Safety is always a priority when designing a new helmet and this one takes extra care to be super protective of the temple region, well known for being the weakest point in the skull. By lowering the helmet in that area the Z1 offers additional coverage at the side of the head to prevent injuries around the eye & temple area without adding weight to the headgear. In addition Lazer have made an upgraded extra light version of the award winning Rollsys system, called ARS or Advanced Rollsys System and retained the five-point adjustment harness seen on the majority of its' range. The helmet is compatible with Lazer’s detachable Aeroshell, and with their Magneto glasses: eyewear that attaches via magnets on the helmet straps. A second set of magnets (or ‘docking port’, in Lazer-speak) can be attached to the rear of the helmet, keeping the front free for ventilation. Speaking of ventilation, that's a big priority for Lazer who aim to keep the rider, cool, comfortable and prevent any loss in performance through overheating so the Z1 uses deep ventilation channels which draw air through the helmet, while keeping the gap between head and shell to a minimum. With minimal weight buckles and a scooped front over the forehead you'll have no trouble wearing your favourite cycling cap underneath the helmet. Not surprisingly, Lazer are very proud of this helmet, rating it their most advanced road helmet to date.
