Material and Sustainability
The upper back part is made of net fabric, which is a compound of Merino wool and polyester. Merino wool is a natural, self-renewing resource which provides a natural way for antibacterial finishing, whilst neutralizing endogenous odours without chemical additives. It also regulates body temperature and wicks moisture quickly outward.
Lightweight’s seat cushions are equipped on the surface with a material which has a two-layer channel system. The upper layer binds moisture and forwards it to the lower layer, which passes it to the outside. In addition, the outer fabric has a bacteriostatic finishing, and a rapid drying time.
The pad itself is divided into three layers, the first consists of a 3mm thick, perforated foam with 60kg / m3 density, which regulates the moisture transport. The front and thus second layer consists of breathable polyurethane foam with 80kg / m3, and the last, rear layer is characterized by its 120 kg / m3.
The crotch area consists of an abrasion-resistant polyamide fabric with Coldblack® technology that prevents the overheating of black materials in the sunlight. This material is bluesign® certified and thus excludes the use of environmentally harmful substances from the entire production process.
The front waistband is made of very thin and lightweight polyester with spandex. This material is also certified bluesign® and equipped with Coldblack® technology. In addition, the substance oozes with technical features such as a Sanitized® finish (an antibacterial and odour-neutralizing feature) and the Interpower® finish (keeps cool and dry).
