How to choose a bike chain
Your chain does more work than any other drivetrain part. The right one, replaced on time, keeps shifting smooth and protects your cassette.
Speed count
Chains get narrower as gears increase. Match your drivetrain, from 6-speed to 13-speed.
System
Some drivetrains need specific chains, like SRAM AXS Flattop road or Shimano Linkglide.
Length
Chains come long (often 116 or 126 links) and are shortened to suit your bike.
Quick links
Most chains join with a quick link. Many 11 and 12-speed links are single use.
Coatings
Premium coatings resist rust and reduce friction, lasting longer in wet and dusty conditions.
Chain wear
Check regularly with a chain checker. Replace early to save your cassette and chainrings.
Grab spare quick links & pins, chain lube and a chain tool, or try pre-waxed chains.
