On January 1st, 2017, the Union Cyclist Internationale (UCI) recommenced the trial of disc brakes in road cycling competition. To be acceptable for use the outer perimeter of disc rotors must not contain any 90 degree edges. The outer perimeter the SwissStop Catalyst disc rotor has rounded edges. It has been reviewed by the UCI Technical Department and is considered acceptable for use in road competition. This includes all four available rotor sizes: 140mm, 160mm, 180mm and 203mm.
