How to choose an electric bike pump
Compact electric pumps inflate your tyres at the push of a button - no arm workout, no disposable cartridges. They've become a favourite for roadside repairs, gravel and MTB days, and travel.
What to check
Max pressure
Road riders want 100–120psi; MTB and gravel need less, so most mini electric pumps suit all three.
Battery capacity
Quoted as tyres per charge (e.g. two 700×25c from 0–80psi). More capacity suits bigger MTB tyres or multiple fills.
Weight & size
The lightest units (under ~100g) slip into a jersey pocket or saddle bag.
Gauge
A built-in display with set-and-forget auto shut-off gives precise pressure — look for ±1psi accuracy.
Valves
Presta by default; check for Schrader compatibility if you need it.
Electric vs CO2
Think of an electric pump as a reusable CO2 inflator, no ongoing cartridge cost, and it's airline-friendly for overseas trips (unlike CO2). It's slower than CO2 but far more convenient than a hand pump.
