Castelli have made some minor updates along the way, but for the fourth-generation Gabba they started with a clean slate to make a significant upgrade. This has involved moving it to water resistance, which meant developing a new exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUMT WINDSTOPPER fabric. They have made the front-facing fabric warmer with a light brushing, while the rear-facing fabrics are lighter yet more water repellent than the previous Gabba. Based on Team Ineos testing Castelli had figured it's better to have two pockets that are easier to access with gloved hands.
