Effetto's Carbocut Replacement Blade is a tungsten carbide grit-edge blade designed for cutting composites such as carbon fibre, but also hard metals (hardened steel, cast iron, titanium) ceramic and masonry. Effetto's Carbocut replacement hacksaw blade is designed for the Carbocut hacksaw but will suit any 10? hacksaw frame.
How It Works
Tungsten carbide (WC) grit edge blades have thousands of cutting edges and their cutting action is more of a grinding action, compared to the 'ripping' action of toothed blades, so reduces the risk of debonding fibres from the matrix. CarboCut blade cuts both on push and pull strokes, providing more control and less vibrations. The blade is 19mm tall, and this height provides a guide for straight cuts.
*Note:as this blade has a thickness of 1.6 mm (instead of 0.9 mm of a standard blade), spacers (washers) might be needed to use with some cut jigs.*
