The concept behind the REALM RIM dates back to 2016, when Swen Lauer, Ambit’s Head of Engineering, developed the first prototype featuring a wide rim flange – laying the foundation for Ambit's first in-house rim.
The result is an exceptionally strong aluminium rim, purpose-built for demanding use on both MTB and E-MTB bikes. The wide hook improves flat protection and reduces the risk of snakebites by up to 28%, offering dependable impact resistance. The low-profile front rim design (18.5 mm height) provides excellent damping and delivers precise, controlled ride characteristics – especially on rough terrain. Its concave nipple interface optimises spoke alignment, improving overall wheel strength and long-term durability. The REALM RIM has already proven itself at the sport’s biggest events – including Red Bull Hardline and Crankworx, ridden by Ambit athletes
