System Optimisation

The frame, fork and integrated seatpost are engineered, developed and tested to perform as a system. The fork features a D-shaped steerer tube with corresponding spacers that, in addition to improving aerodynamics, also allows the cables to be internally routed through the handlebars, stem and frame/fork for a cleaner profile. And the signature ISP saves 40g while also adding road smoothing compliance and further improving its aero performance.

• ADVANCED SL COMPOSITE: Professional-grade raw carbon is woven in the Giant composite factory using the most advanced engineering and construction methods. Continuous Fiber Technology adds strength and minimizes weight.
• ONE-PIECE MOLD: New construction technique uses a single bladder (as opposed to previous generation’s three bladders) to create a one-piece front triangle. The result is reduced weight without compromising stiffness or aerodynamic shaping.
• TRUNCATED ELLIPSE TUBING: Strategically engineered airfoil sections in the frame and fork, developed through CFD and wind-tunnel testing, improve aerodynamic efficiency, reducing wind drag at a wide range of yaw angles compared to traditional teardrop shaped tubes.
• INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING: Frame/handlebar/stem feature unique cable porting for sleek, non-cluttered appearance and easier adjustability.
• FULL COMPOSITE FORK: Advanced SL-grade composite fork features a symmetric design and aero shaping, along with disc-brake integration and increased clearance for tires up to 33mm. This new design makes it lighter, stiffer and more aerodynamic.
• OVERDRIVE AERO: The D-shaped fork steerer tube and corresponding spacers provide an extremely aerodynamic, easy-to-service system of internally routed brake and derailleur cables.
• INTEGRATED SEATPOST: Specifically engineered for competitive road racers, Variant’s refined shape and integrated design reduces weight, improves aero performance, and adds roadsmoothing compliance.
• MEGADRIVE: An oversized down tube and top tube provide superior front end lateral and torsional stiffness. The precisely engineered, rectangular shaped down tube yields unprecedented steering precision and pedaling performance.
• POWERCORE: The oversized bottom bracket area features a fully integrated 86mm wide design. Symmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
