The third-generation High Roller is a ‘mid-spike’ tyre best suited to very soft, loose, or dusty terrain. The High Roller’s large, supported side knobs enhance cornering traction for predictable handling.
This High Roller fits between the Assegai and Shorty in Maxxis's gravity range. Its wide tread clears debris better than the Assegai, and it outperforms the Shorty in drier conditions where the Shorty’s long spikes can become vague during high-speed cornering. This versatility makes it ideal for soft or loose conditions that don't quite require a mud spike (like the Shorty).
The High Roller III is typically the most aggressive tyre needed for Australian conditions, suitable for places with more rain and looser soil such as Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Tasmania in Autumn/Spring and unpredictable conditions of the Victorian and NSW High Country.
Characteristics: Excellent grip, good braking, and predictable cornering, especially in loose or wet conditions. Rolls reasonably fast for its grip level.
Suitable Terrain: Loose, loamy, and mixed conditions. Excels in wetter Australian trails, or areas with a lot of roots and rocks like parts of Tasmania or coastal NSW.
